This portrait was taken when my friend was telling me about a life experience which she deeply felt, and I simply waited for the shot. We talked for about two hours, and I cradled my camera on my lap, with my right hand always holding the camera ready to take a shot.
Sometimes the best thing to do is to interact with the subject. More than talk, LISTEN to him or her. And when the barriers are lowered, you just might capture that emotion that tells the story.
